This is a drawing made for another piece when I was taking graphic design in college. It’s made with oil pastel and the subject is a friend from high school, Janie Caudell. Janie is also a very expressionist artist which is why I couldn’t help but screen grab this photo off of their Instagram and bring it to life. I don’t usually like oil pastel but the more work I create with it the more I feel it is similar to painting and expresses the ‘vibe’ I want emulate through texture, expressions and color within my portraits.
